Armed police called to two sites in Cardiff after ‘threats’ made

Multiple police vehicles and armed officers s were sent to two sites in Cardiff on Sunday [December 20].

South Wales Police officers were in attendance at Rover Way, Tremorfa, and later in Wentloog Road, Shirenewton.

At least two police riot vans and other patrol cars were at the scene in Rover Way as well as specialist firearms teams.

South Wales Police confirmed that officers responded to reports of a generator being stolen from Tremorfa Industrial Estate and Territorial Support Teams were later dispatched as a “precautionary measure” after “threats were disclosed”.

However, a police spokeswoman confirmed that the incident was not as reported and officers later left the scene.
