Professor’s artwork purchased by National Library of Wales

A unique body of work created by renowned artist Professor Sue Williams during lockdown has been purchased by the National Library of Wales. Cardiff-based Professor Williams, who is course manager in Fine Art: Studio Site & Context at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s (UWTSD) Swansea College of Art, spent the lockdown of 2020 at home alone and used the time to create artwork in three Chinese folding books which she had had specially made on a trip to China in 2017. Cardiff artists selected for Forté Project

Despite the recent hardships faced by the music industry in Wales, Forté Project, an artist development scheme for emerging musicians, is proud to announce that KINGKHAN and Mari Mathias from Cardiff have been selected to embark on its 2021 programme on Thursday 7 January, alongside six other artists. Forté Project did not give up the fight in 2020 and as a result, has secured Arts Council of Wales and PRS Foundation funding, allowing the project to expand beyond its original South Wales regions for the first time and reach new artists across the country.
