The buzz continues to grow with every release on their Spring and Summer release series on their new Sharp Digital Recordings label.  Their first track ‘Radar’  was supported by Radio 1’s Danny Howard, Eats Everything, Majestic and BK, and the second track, ‘The Zapper’ clocked up DJ support from Jamie Jones, Nicole Moudaber, Horsemeat Disco and Terry Farley. Their new release ‘Playing Games’ is on promo now with Majestic breaking it on Kiss FM last weekend.
They are also launching a new website which will feature a new merchandise range of Sharp Boys clothing and accessories.

Taking clever influence from a previous remix highlight of their career, Playing Games’ continues where The Zapper’ left off with another driving percussive journey of modern-day 90s influenced house with tech sensibilities, hypnotic vocals and a pitched down break that is driving a spectrum of House dancefloors crazy.

 

Composed, produced, arranged and engineered by The Sharp Boys in London, this is the third in a series of late Winter / early Spring original, new productions set for release on their own Sharp Digital Recordings’ label. Released on 20th March via all download stores.

Firmly back in the production hot seat, British DJ & Production duo, The Sharp Boys, announce a series of Spring releases on their new Sharp Digital Recordings label with the first release ‘Radar’ racking up solid support from Radio 1’s Danny Howard, Eats Everything, Majestic and BK. Their second track of the year ‘The Zapper’ numbers DJ support from Jamie Jones, Nicole Moudaber, Horsemeat Disco and Terry Farley and a third single, ‘Playing Games’, is set for release in March.

 

Known for their bumping house style, the Sharp Boys have toughened things up and have evolved their sound into a driving, percussive, energetic groove with tech influences. Reviving their musical mojo has never felt better and Steven Sharp comments “George’s energy for our new music has fired up both of our creative spirits. It’s really humbling to receive such a positive response so far!”.

Sharp Digital Recordings are fully primed with 10 new Sharp Boys productions including collaborations with Trade legend, DJ & producer, Malcolm Duffy and a brand new Sara Parker collab. Their classic back catalogue of ‘Sharp Tools EPs’ and underground club smash, ‘Unmanageable” by East Anglia are also available for the first time digitally. And to top thinghs off the Boys also launch a range of Exclusive Sharp Boy merchandise next month featuring rucksacks, hoodies, tees, caps, slip mats and other accessories via their forthcoming newly updated website.

Following on their much talked-about set at Trade’s Birthday in November and Feersum at Phonox in January; The Sharp Boys announce a busy DJ-ing schedule with forthcoming UK dates at Orbit, Union Club, London  (March 8th); Fixate, Cardiff Bay, (May 18th); Old School Special at The Sound House, Dublin, Ireland, (May 30th); Decadence daytime event at Mama’s Club Collette, Birmingham, (June 6th) alongside Mr C, Jeremy Healy & John Kelly; Orbit at Union Club, London (June 7th); Pride London events (July 4th) as well as ‘Bioshokk: The Frantic After Party at Union Club, London (July 18th).

One of the UK’s most enduring musical partnerships, the Sharp Boys rose to prominence as a DJ duo with legendary residencies at iconic LGBTQ clubs such as Trade and Garage at Heaven. They quickly launched the Sharp Boys Recordings label, known for dance floor classics such as Sara Parker’s ‘My Love Is Deep’, which recently got a special Eats Everything Remix on a Toolroom vinyl and digital release.

The duo also hosted their own 2-hour ‘Sharp Saturday Night Invasion’ radio show on the UK’s premier dance station Kiss 100 FM, featuring guests such as David Morales, the Pet Shop Boys, Nile Rodgers (Chic), The Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox, & Basement Jaxx popping in for a chat and a mix. Did we mention they have also recorded 2 ‘Essential Mixes’ for BBC Radio 1?

The Sharp Boys have also played alongside hugely influential DJs such as Tony de Vit, Smokin’ Jo, DJ Paulette, Nicole Moudaber, David Guetta, Nina Kravitz and Boris (from Berghain) and foundation legends such as Carl Cox, Tony Humphries, Frankie Knuckles (RIP), Little Louie Vega, and Danny Tenaglia. Their infectious Live energy has seen them headline events such as Radio 1’s Judge Jules’ Euro Pride show to 40,000+ in Hyde Park and at the Trade stage at the Radio 1 Love Parade in Leeds in front of over 200,000 people.

 

The boys have also headlined events at all of Ibiza’s major clubs including Space, Manumission, Pacha, Eden, Privilege and Amnesia; toured Japan and Hong Kong; played to over 35,000+ people in Australia and New Zealand on tour with Dave Seaman; at the infamous Muccacasina to over 4000 clubbers at Qube in Rome on 10 occasions; played 12 times in Moscow as well as all over the USA including gigs in Las Vegas, Miami, San Francisco, New York and Washington DC.

 

As their production career blossomed so did their Remix career, and The Sharp Boys have officially remixed over 200 artists over three decades including seminal dance anthems such as Cee Cee Peniston’s ‘Finally’; UKG smash The Artful Dodger featuring Craig David ‘Rewind’, which went Double Platinum plus worldwide multi- Platinum #No 1’s for pop princesses’; ‘Kylie Minogue – ‘Spinnin’ Around’; ‘Can’t Fight The Moonlight’ for LeAnn Rimes and the iconic 10M+ seller ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ by Britney Spears plus ‘Outside’ and ‘Flawless’ for George Michael. They’ve also remixed Madonna, Mary J Blige, Pink, Boy George, Jamiroquai, Diana Ross, Janet Jackson & Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin and so many more. On the dance floor, they’ve lent their magic to ‘God Is A DJ’ by Faithless and ‘Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad’ by Moby, ‘Love On My Mind” for The Freemasons plus MK, Ultra Nate, Ce Ce Peniston, Martha Wash, Kym Mazelle, and David Morales.

 

Part of the legendary after-hours club, Trade, the Sharp Boys co-created the infamous ‘Lite Lounge’ with creative director, Laurence Malice, and have been resident DJs there ever since (for nearly 30 years!) alongside Fat Tony, Shay Malt (Adonis), Jaguar, Guy Williams and Chris McCoy. Intrinsic to the Trade club story, the Sharp Boys have either signed, remixed or produced seminal Trade dance floor anthems including tracks such as the Candy Girls ‘Wham Bam’ & ‘Fee Fi Foo Fum”; Cool Jack ‘Jus’ Come’ ; NRG ‘He Never Lost His Hardcore’; Josh Wink’s ‘Higher State of Consciousness’; ‘Saturday’ by Dave Lee (JN) featuring Taka Boom, ‘Family Affair’ by Mary J Blige, Cevin Fisher ‘The Freaks Come Out (Sharp Freaks at Trade Remix)’ and Emotion’s ‘I Stand Alone’, a Tony De Vit favourite.
