Pedestrian dies in early morning traffic collision on M4

South Wales Police is investigating a Fatal Road Traffic Collision, which occurred at about 3.45am this morning (6 January) on the westbound carriageway of the M4 motorway between junctions 30 and 32, Cardiff The incident involved a Renault articulated HGV and a male pedestrian. Sadly the man was declared deceased at scene and his family are being supported by a specially trained liaison officer. Attempted robbery and assault in Canton

Police in Cardiff are appealing for information following an attempted robbery and an assault which occurred on two boys in the Canton area of Cardiff last night (Wednesday, 30 December, 2020). At approximately 7.30pm, two boys, aged 14 and 12, were approached by a group of approximately ten males at the junction of Wells Street and Rolls Street. Section 60 Notice issued for Canton, Riverside and Grangetown

South Wales Police has issued a Section 60 Notice which gives officers the authority to stop and search anyone in Canton, Riverside and Grangetown tonight (Wednesday, December 30). The Section 60 Notice took effect from 8.02pm and will remain until 11pm. Illegal Pontprennau party shutdown and summons issued

A number of revellers have been reported for summons after an illegal rave was shut down by South Wales and Gwent Police forces on Sunday (December 27). Officers were alerted to the unlicensed event near Pontprennau – which was also in breach of current coronavirus restrictions –  at around 10.45pm. Party-goers began to disperse upon police arrival, but the details of those who remained were taken. 31-year-old pedestrian remains in critical condition following Cardiff collision

South Wales Police is continuing to investigate a serious road traffic collision, which occurred on Cowbridge Road West, Ely, Cardiff, shortly before 8.40pm on Monday, December 28. A 31-year-old pedestrian was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, where he remains in a critical condition, after he was in collision with a black Audi Q3. The collision occurred near the junction with Wilson Road, and a section of Cowbridge Road West was subsequently closed in both directions for several hours. Police appeal to trace serious assault victim

Detectives investigating a reported assault in the Roath area of Cardiff are appealing to trace the victim. Members of the public reported seeing an assault take place on Plasnewydd Square at around 3.05pm on Saturday, 19 December. The victim – described as a black man, approximately 5ft 11in tall, with short, dreadlocked hair and wearing a white top or jacket – was attacked by two men who exited a car on the street. Following the violent attack, the men fled scene, and the victim left along with a woman who had been heard screaming to try and stop the attack. […]

Diversions in place following early morning Cardiff accident

Police and other emergency services are currently at the scene of a single vehicle collision which occurred on Coryton roundabout at approximately 4.40am today (Saturday, 28 November, 2020). Officers investigating the collision have had to put on road closures which are currently preventing access to the roundabout and also a section of the A470 at that location. The closures are likely to remain in place for several hours and motorists are urged to plan their journeys and use alternative routes – diversions are in place. The patience and cooperation of the public is appreciated at this time.

Six people in hospital following Cardiff disturbance

South Wales Police is investigating a large disturbance which occurred in Cardiff city centre on Saturday night (November 21). Multiple reports of a violent incident on Queen Street were received at around 9.50pm. Six people have subsequently been taken to, or self-presented at, the University Hospital of Wales with various injuries. One person suffered head injuries and remains in a serious condition, while three others are believed to have sustained stab wounds. Two others have presented at hospital with lesser injuries. Student who collapsed at Cardiff halls named

The 18 year-old student who died after collapsing at a Cardiff halls of residence at the weekend has been named as Megan Pollitt from Rugby in Warwickshire. Woman remains critically ill following Canton collision

A woman remains critically ill in hospital and one man has been arrested following a road traffic collision in Cardiff on Tuesday afternoon. Emergency services were called the scene of the collision in Canton just after 3pm on Tuesday, October 20. A red Volkswagen Caravelle collided with a parked unattended blue Nissan Qashqai in Market Road.
