Cardiff Bus to carry out environmental upgrades to fleet

Cardiff Bus has been successful in gaining funding to retrofit 20 of its vehicles, in a bid to make them cleaner and greener as part of its wider investment in to reducing its carbon footprint. As part of Cardiff Council’s Clean Air Project, the Clean Bus Retrofit Scheme aims to tackle air quality issues in the capital. New ‘pop-up’ Cardiff cycleway to open on Monday

A new, segregated, ‘pop-up’ cycleway which will run from Cathedral Road to Dumfries Place, will open to the public on Monday, March 15. The new route is part of the cross-city cycleway. Ongoing works will soon see it extended to the end of Wellington Street, to the west of the city, and to the junction with Broadway on Newport Road, to the east. Cardiff Bus to reduce service from this weekend

Cardiff Bus customers are being alerted to service changes taking place across its network from this weekend. The operator is set to alter services from Sunday January 17th with customers advised to only travel for essential reasons and check all timetables before they travel if their journey is necessary. The decision to reduce services has come as a result of discussions between the Welsh Government and bus operators, to reflect the current and ongoing lockdown. Major Cardiff road to close for up to three weeks

The north section of Churchill Way will be closed on Monday, January 11th, for up to three weeks so that ground investigation assessments can be carried out underneath the road, as part of the proposed plan to re-open the dock feeder canal. The road will be closed in both directions from 8am from the junction with North Edward Street up to the hammerhead that meets Queen Street. Christmas and New Year travel update from Cardiff Bus

Cardiff Bus is offering travel advice to customers ahead of the Christmas and New Year period. Buses will follow their normal timetables until Thursday 24 December when a Saturday service will be in place with an early finish.  In addition to the Saturday service, services H59 and 98 will follow their normal Monday to Friday timetable with an early finish on service H59.  Services 15, 64 & 65 will follow special timetables. Diversions in place following early morning Cardiff accident

Police and other emergency services are currently at the scene of a single vehicle collision which occurred on Coryton roundabout at approximately 4.40am today (Saturday, 28 November, 2020). Officers investigating the collision have had to put on road closures which are currently preventing access to the roundabout and also a section of the A470 at that location. The closures are likely to remain in place for several hours and motorists are urged to plan their journeys and use alternative routes – diversions are in place. The patience and cooperation of the public is appreciated at this time.
